Today's Doctor's Appointment Update

Had another appointment today and everything is going well. I'm now through 26 weeks of pregnancy. They reran my ultrasound since the first time around, my fluid levels looked a little low. Now everything is perfect! There's plenty of fluid which confirms that the baby's kidneys are working just fine and enough fluid for his lungs to continue to develop properly so the doctor was happy with what she saw. They took some more pictures which I will try to post sometime next week.

I'm now weighing in at 10 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight which is also very good. They estimate that the baby weighs about 2.5 lbs right now which puts him in the 75th percentile on the growth chart. The doctor said that if I deliver on my due date, she'd expect the baby to weigh at least 7 lbs (closer to 8lbs). Kevin and I have also signed up for childbirth classes which start on April 5th. I have my next appointment in 2 weeks and they will do my glucose screening at that time. Will post another update then!

Wrapping up my travels for work

Today I just finished my last trip for work! It's a good thing too, b/c I'm starting to get big enough that I'm losing my balance when I go to pull my suitcase off of the baggage claim. I can only imagine what a scene I'd create if I lost my balance and tipped over onto the conveyor belt! So the traveling alone bit is over just at the right time! This last trip was to Denver and it was a good trip. The hardest thing for me was being able to breathe! I didn't anticipate the impact the altitude would have on my ability to breathe and that, coupled w/ the fact that since I've become pregnant I feel short of breath a lot (which is normal), it was an interesting 3 days. But now I'm home, breathing normally, and happy that my travels by myself are coming to an end. Will post another update next week since my next doctor's appt is on Thursday.

Still Growing at 24 weeks!

Not much news to post other than to say that my belly is still growing and I am definitely now noticeably pregnant! The baby is moving around a lot these days. My next doctor's appt isn't until 3/24. Until then--no news is good news :)
