Amsterdam

We had a great visit to Amsterdam last weekend. The weather was fantastic which made it even better. We drove there, taking the Eurotunnel to get across to the contintent. Not a bad drive--took only about 4 hours (5 since we had to make a few pit stops for Carson along the way!). Here's a list of some of the things we did:

• Visited the Van Gogh Museum


• Rode the tram (Carson's favorite)


• Stayed at the Holiday Inn -- which had fantastic food as far as hotel food goes.


• Went to Tun Fun--an underground playground for children that was build in an old roadway underpass (also Carson's favorite)


• Took a canal boat ride


• Ate Dutch pancakes!


• Lots of walking and other general tourist things!

Great Show

The Prince concert was fantastic! He put on a great show. We had amazing seats--slightly raised off the floor level and about 20 rows from the front. The audience was much more into the music and the performance versus the show we went to previously. This vensue was set up a lot better for a concert which made a huge difference. If you have a chance to go see Prince play live--I recommend it. Especially if he is playing his hits--you will know the tunes and you will be on your feet dancing the entire time. In short--we loved it.

Big Plans

Kevin and I are really excited that the 17th of August is here tomorrow. We have plans to see "The Purple One" aka Prince in London tomorrow night. His European tour consists of 21 shows, all being played in London--all made up of his greatest hits. Now, I am not the most die hard Prince fan but if you think about it, he's got incredible talent and plenty of good songs. I may not be able to name them all, but I will know them when I hear them. Based on our experience seeing DMB a few months ago, we are hoping the crowd will be a bit more engaged (ie. maybe people will actually get off their bums and dance around??!!) during this show. We shall see....
