6 Months Old

Today was Carson's 6 month doctor's appt and here are his latest stats:

19lbs 13 oz
29 inches long

The doctor says that he's slowing down on his weight (only at 90th percentile now) but is still growing fast on his length (95th percentile). So basically, he's still big--but I'm glad to hear his weight is slowing down a bit!

We have also started venturing out into the land of finger foods--so far Carson likes to feed himself a plain rice cake that he gums till it's soft. It's amazing how messy a simple rice cake can be. But hey, it keeps him occupied for 30 minutes so that's fine with us!

All Carson wants for Christmas are his 2 front teeth!

And Santa made an early delivery! When we woke up at the lake house on the morning of 12/22, Carson's 2 bottom front teeth had broken through. He's chewing on everything he can put in his mouth now, trying to figure out what's going on in there. No pictures of this though--it's not the easiest thing to photograph on a baby!

We are embarking on digital video now

Since we had Carson we figured we should start documenting with video now too, so we recently purchased a digital video recorder. Here's my first attempt at putting together a video about Carson. Click here to view the video.

New pictures coming soon

I'm hoping to get some more pictures added later tonight--will add another photoshow since it doesn't take as long to get the pics uploaded that way.

Some more firsts

Have a few more firsts to report:

Carson is now able to sit on his own, unsupported. He sometimes topples backwards but he often times leans forward and tries to get on his hands and knees.

He also is able to hold himself up in the crawling position and rock back and forth. We are hoping to get a video of him doing this shortly and will post it when we have it. Looks like crawling is just around the corner!
