Another Day, Another Burger
Kevin is happy to report that the Whopper served in a Burger King in the UK tastes exactly like the Whopper in the US. And he can get a good tasting fountain diet Coke too. This all made him very happy, especially since he had been having a bad stomach ache the last 12 hours. We've been eating local food as much as we can and I think it's finally getting to us. So for dinner, we had Subway and loved every little bite. In fact, this was the first place we've eaten that offerred free refills on your drink. It was very much the same as an American Subway restaurant and we were very thankful for this. Maybe we are copping out, maybe we are just OVER living out of hotels---but having something that is familiar feels really good right now. It's just funny the things that you reach out to. Since we like to eat, I suppose food is an appropriate security blanket for us.
It's been a while since I've done a Carson update so I will fill in a few updates here:
- He's started getting more teeth. 2 molars have broken the skin and 2 more are really close. Tooth count = 10.
- Everyday he tries to talk more and more. Total word count = 7 (duck, mama, dada, hi, bye, dog, Boohbah--he say's Bahbooh too but I'm not counting that one!)
- Carson starts "school" this Friday. Our first order of business was to find a day care (called a day nursery in the UK) since it's time for Carson to start interacting with more children and dad deserves a break after all this hotel living. We found a day nursery in Canterbury that had a few openings and Carson has really enjoyed his 2 "test" visits so far. He will be in the Duckling room (babies) until he's 15 mos old, then he moves to the Bunny room.
- Carson loves the sea. And the sand. It's very cute to watch him play. And he screams like a mad man when it's time to leave the beach. This is not very cute...
Finally, we are happy to report that all of our things have officially landed here in the UK. They should clear customs tomorrow and then we are almost done. The final question will be whether or not the moving truck can fit down our narrow street---more to come on that later this week I am sure!

Amazing to hear fast food has become the new comfort food, but sure can understand that. Hope you wil have some good birthday cake on the 20th Tracy!! Hope Carson likes going to day care, he will enjoy being with other kids, even if they all talk funny!!! Good weather day, only in the 80's for a change but hot weather due in a couple days again. We are still waiting on the driveway, although we heard they started and the retaing wall is done and looks good, still talking aboutthe window problem.
